Smaller Big Country? Many area counties losing population

Population in most area counties has decreased by nearly 6,000 people between 2000 and 2008, according to figures released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Notable exceptions include Taylor, Brown, Callahan and Erath counties, where population increased. Of those four, Erath County, at 8.7 percent, was the fastest growing county. Callahan County, at 4.9 percent, was also a growing county in the Big Country. Brown County was next with an increase of 1.9 percent, followed by Taylor County with an increase of .2 percent.
This is so awesome people are moving to Callahan county...
